💨 Pulmotonia (금양체질 / Metal-Yang)
Pulmotonia is characterized by inherently strong lungs and large intestine with relatively weaker liver and gallbladder. This is the Sympathicotonia (sympathetic dominant) classification — the mirror opposite of Hepatonia.
✅ Beneficial Foods
- Seafood: All marine fish and shellfish
- Grains: Rice, buckwheat, red bean, green bean
- Vegetables: Cucumber, eggplant, Chinese cabbage, lettuce, all green vegetables, fern, mugwort
- Fruits: Banana, strawberry, peach, cherry, persimmon, melon, quince
- Others: Dextrose, cocoa, chocolate, aloe vera, ice, salted fish
❌ Harmful Foods
- Meat: ALL kinds of meat (avoid completely)
- Fish: All freshwater fish
- Beverages: Coffee, tea
- Vegetables: Garlic, zucchini, red pepper, mushrooms, root vegetables
- Others: Flour, sorghum, soybeans, all nuts, sugar, adlay, apples, pears, deer antler
- Supplements: ALL medications, vitamins A B D, alkaline beverages
- Activities: Alcohol, cigarettes, hot baths (sauna), sunbathing
Special Note: Medication Sensitivity
Pulmotonia individuals have the weakest liver function of all constitutions. Because the liver is responsible for metabolizing medications, Pulmotonia people are often highly sensitive to pharmaceutical drugs, anesthesia, and even herbal medicines. They should always inform healthcare providers of their constitution and start with the lowest possible doses of any medication.
